2. What is the Mahogany Homeowners Association and what are the fees?
The Mahogany Homeowners Association will oversee the preservation of the community in addition to hosting year-round events and programs. This organization will become the legal owner of certain community amenities together with the lands upon which such amenities are located. Current fees are:

  • Boulevard Collection
    • $400/year
  • Lakeland Collection
    • $400/year
  • Reserve Collection
    • lake access $650/year
    • lake front $800/year
  • Island Collection
    • $1000/year

3. How many show homes are there?
Currently there are 21 show homes open in Mahogany in 4 locations.  Baywest Homes, Calbridge Homes and Morrison Homes each have two Lakeside Estate show homes within our Reserve Collection and can be found here.

Jayman MasterBUILT Homes, Sabal Homes, Stepper Custom Homes and Trico Homes each have two Front Garage show homes within our Lakeland Collection and can be found here.

In addition, Sabal Homes have 5 Laned show homes within our Lakeland Collection that can be found here, and 2 Attached show homes that can be found here.

4. What other type of product will be available in future phases?
Once complete, Mahogany will house nearly 25,000 Calgarians in homes ranging from inspired estate homes to single-family move-ups, to exclusive lake-island estate living, to ranch-style homesteads and dense inter-connected urban villages.

5. What's the Information Centre?
The Information Centre is an opportunity for potential homebuyers to learn more about Mahogany, explore everything the community has to offer, and get a view in to Mahogany's future through interactive kiosks, a three dimensional model, and Mahogany Ambassadors available to answer any and all questions. Where is the Information Center?

6. Is Mahogany Lake ready for use?
Yes! The first part of Mahogany's interconnected lake was open for winter use (skating and hockey) in 2009, and in 2010 residents enjoyed their first summer of swimming and boating in Mahogany Lake. Mahogany's West Beach also opened in summer 2010 and features a sandy beach, play equipment, beach volleyball courts and more.

7. Will the lake be stocked with fish? If so, what is the time frame?
The lake will likely be stocked with trout, similar to other lake communities in Calgary, and fishing will commence once the entire lake has been completed. This is estimated to be in the 3-6 year timeframe. There will be a designated fishing area that will be separated from other lake activity areas.

8. When can I buy a lake lot and how much will it cost?
Mahogany’s Reserve Collection includes the community’s first akeside and lakefront estate homes now available for purchase. In addition, Mahogany's Island Collection features two private, estate lot islands with lake-frontage and bridge connections to the larger community. It is anticipated that the first Island estate lots will be available in the 2012 time frame.

9. Are there any off-leash dog parks in the area?
Yes. There is a 10-acre off-leash dog park adjacent to Mahogany near the entrance off of 52nd Street.

10. What kind of activities will the lake support?
The lake will be large and deep enough to support all but motorized boating pursuits, as well as swimming, paddling, floating and wading in shallower areas. Motorized watercraft will not be permitted on Mahogany Lake.

11. When will the new hospital open?
The new South Calgary Hospital is scheduled to open in 2012. Please visit calgaryhealthregion.ca for more information.

12. Is there any noise coming from the Emergency Power Generator Building located on the Northeast corner of the South Campus Hospital?
When computer modeling was conducted, the exterior noise produced by the generators measured less than 40 decibels at the closest residence. There should be no impact detectable by those living in Mahogany.

13. What information regarding the Southeast Stoney Trail Project is available?
