On December 2nd Hopewell Residential officially became a partner of Attainable Homes, a not-for-profit corporation owned by the City of Calgary which provides homeownership to qualified Calgarians who provide a down payment of only $2,000. Hopewell has dedicated 24 homes in Sandgate in Mahogany and Copperfield Chalet No. 6 multi-family developments as stylish and well-located options for Attainable Home purchasers.
Hopewell has committed 14 Copperfield Chalet townhomes and 10 Sandgate apartment condos to Attainable Homes. Both developments are currently under construction, with Sandgate slated for early 2017 completion in Mahogany, Calgary’s favourite new lake community. Copperfield Chalet’s homes are anticipated to be complete by fall of 2016, and are moments from retail amenities, greenspace and schools.
Hopewell is excited to be a part of this extremely important initiative put forth by the City of Calgary.
“As one of Alberta’s leading home builders and land developers, recognized on a national scale for our outstanding developments, we welcome this program into our communities, and our homes, as a testament to the vitality and diversity of our offering," said Jeff Rust, Vice-President of multi-family at Hopewell Residential.
“Hopewell builds beautiful communities; they build beautiful homes,” said Mayor Naheed Nenshi at the partnership announcement event this week.

The Canadian Home Builders’ Association’s 2014 National SAM Awards were held in Halifax on Friday, March 6 and Mahogany was named Canada’s Community Development of the Year! We are so proud to add this to the list of achievements that Hopewell Residential has accomplished.
Our stunning southeast community, with its combined 84 acre lake and beachfront, private beaches, 22,000 sq.ft. beach club, and countless other amenities has been named Calgary’s Community of the Year for the past two years at the CHBA Calgary Region SAM Awards as well as Alberta’s Community of the Year at the Provincial level. We are thrilled that we have been recognized on a national scale and can now call Mahogany Canada’s Community of the Year as well! Not only did Mahogany win this prestigious award, but the Triumph rear-attached garage show home was a finalist for Single Detached Home Between 1,500 and 2,200 Square Feet.
With a national award under our belts, we once again head into the CHBA Calgary Region SAM Awards in April, in which we have been nominated for 13 awards between our housing and land divisions. We are so proud to be recognized for our efforts in a number of areas, including:
· Community of the Year – for the third year in a row
· Show Home Parade of the Year for our amazing new Rear-Attached Garage show home parade
· Best New Home – $255,000-$294,999 for our Sonik attached home
We couldn’t be happier about these amazing nominations and we’d like to acknowledge none of this would be possible without an excellent team, our trades and our partners in business behind us. We can’t wait to celebrate our accomplishments at the upcoming award ceremony.
